The Gaslight Anthem - The 59' Sound - LP

The '59 Sound is the iconic 2008 breakthrough album by New Jersey rock band The Gaslight Anthem, known for its Springsteen-esque blend of punk energy, heartland rock, and nostalgic, literary lyrics about youth, love, and loss, paying homage to classic rock culture, especially the sounds from 1959.  

The title track is a tribute to a deceased friend, referencing classic amps and music from that era, solidifying the album's status as a timeless classic that defines "that album changed my life" for many fans.     

In December 2008, eMusic named The '59 Sound the best album of 2008.  NME rated it as the 47th best album of the year. The title track was number 62 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2008
