Stray Cats is the 1981 debut album from the rockabilly trio Stray Cats. A major success in Britain, it reached #6 on the UK Albums Chart and produced the Top 40 hits "Runaway Boys," "Stray Cat Strut," and "Rock This Town" — the last later named by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the songs that shaped rock and roll. The album updates 1950s rock 'n' roll energy with a clean '80s sound, driven by Lee Rocker's slapping double bass and Slim Jim Phantom's drumming.
