The "Three Legged Dog" or "Tripod" is the self-titled third album by Alice in Chains, released in 1995. It is known by this nickname because of the dog on the album cover. A separate, but also three-legged, dog named Sunshine appeared in the music video for the song "Grind".
The self-titled album was originally released on vinyl in limited quantities on October 31, 1995. For a long time, it did not receive an official repress, making original copies rare and expensive.
Alice in Chains’ self-titled album, originally released in 1995, is a dark and introspective work that marked the band’s final studio effort with vocalist Layne Staley. The record blends heavy, sludgy riffs with haunting melodies and acoustic textures, creating a sound that is both aggressive and deeply melancholic.
Now celebrating its 30th Anniversary, the album will see an official reissue, pressed on colored vinyl.
