Songs like "Jenny Jenkins," "Freight Train" and "There Ain't No Bugs on Me" — the way Jerry and David learned them long ago along, plus unique arrangements of classics ("Shenandoah", "Teddy Bears' Picnic"). Awarded as a Notable Children's Recording by the American Library Association, the beloved release Not for Kids Only is a timeless collection of folky favorites and playful picks from Jerry Garcia & David Grisman aimed at both children and parents.

Many of the songs featured on the album were ones Garcia and Dawg first learned in the early '60s, drawn from the Old-Time Strong Band Songbook (formerly the New Lost City Ramblers Songbook), which they used to help recall some of the lyrics.

Originally released in 1993, this 2025 deluxe vinyl edition marks the album's first appearance on wax. This reissue expands on the original track list with bonus material on Side D, including alternate versions and previously unissued takes from the original sessions with Garcia and Dawg.
