Funkadlelic - Greatest Hits - (2023 Remaster) LP

The reissue of Funkadelic's 1975 Greatest Hits collection on Westbound Records. Known as "The Sheep Album" for it's unique cover art, this is a stunning selection of highlights from the George Clinton-led group's first six albums. Gathering 45 mixes, LP versions and a unique edit of the instrumental 'A Joyful Process', it is a perfect entry point into the world of Funkadelic. The small Detroit-based label released this best-of collection in 1975, when Funkadelic made the jump to Warner. Hence this is a suitable sampler of early Funkadelic singles, compiling many of the group's more up-tempo anthems from the early '70s such as "Hit It and Quit It" and "Loose Booty." Since it's from the pre-CD era, the album's track listing is rather brief at ten songs, but you really can't complain about any dull moments – everything here is top-notch Funkadelic. In addition to this, there are only a few best-ofs that feature Funkadelic's Westbound material.
