Originally released in 2006, The Open Door was the second studio album from Evanescence. The album symbolized a new beginning for the group following Terry Balsamo's stroke, the loss of the band's former manger, and the departure of Will Boyd and Ben Moody from the group.

The record was nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance for "Sweet Sacrifice" at the 50th Grammy® Awards.
